Iva Keighley, Associate, Psychotherapist

Iva Keighley

I am a Registered Social Worker and Registered Psychotherapist, previously trained as a Lawyer, Social Worker, Counsellor, Family Mediator and Vocational Disability Assessor. With over decade of experience, I help individuals, couples and families rise from different challenges of living while assisting them to get unstuck through learning to trust their authentic selves.

My approach is gentle, yet direct and solution oriented – it emphasizes the development of courage to change what does not work in your life, by supporting you to create meaningful ways of overcoming your challenges and achieving desired outcomes in different life domains.

My own life transitions, coupled with my professional experience and educational background in law, social work, psychotherapy, counselling, rehabilitation and mediation have allowed me to easily relate to, connect, and work with a wide range of challenges and people. As a part of my career journey, I have been provided counselling, psychotherapy, assessments, mental health, and rehabilitation consultation services in various professional environments including post-secondary education (York University – Osgoode Hall Law School and Fleming College); medical assessment centres (Omega Medical), community medicine, family health team, employment, corporate and medico-legal sectors. In addition, I have been training Career Counsellors and Psychotherapists in training from George Brown College, University of Toronto (OISE), Yorkville and York Universities.

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Brief-Solution Focused Counselling and and Medico-Legal Vocational Assessments.

I work with Trauma, Anxiety, OCD, Depression, Interpersonal Conflicts, Workplace and Court mandated Counselling, Career-Academic-Life transitions and related stress; addictions, Return to Work post-injuries.

Michelle Nathan

I have been working in the field of Social Work for over 17 years. I have a Masters in Social Work, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and training in EMDR Therapy.

As a therapist I have worked with a diverse population which include children, adolescents, adults and families who have experienced trauma, loss, separation, abuse, human trafficking, anxiety, depression, mental, emotional and behavioural issues in a community based organization. My clinical experience has also involved working with children and youth that have been separated from their families due to abuse and helping these families with reunification whenever possible. I have extensive experience working with children, youth and their families in the Child Protection system, Youth Justice system and Family Court system. I have also had the privilege of working on the Human Trafficking committee for one of the Child Protection agencies in Toronto. I feel honoured to have worked with such a diverse population to help them in their paths to healing. I look forward to continuing my work as a therapist to help you in your healing process.

Anna Skomorovskaia

Anna Skomorovskaia (she/her) has two professional passions, psychotherapy and nutrition. Anna Skomorovskaia, MSW, RSW, RD, CDE (she/her) is a registered social worker, psychotherapist, registered dietitian, and certified diabetes educator. She obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Laurier, as well as Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition from Ryerson University. Her lifelong passions of nutrition, social work, and psychotherapy merged into the practice you see today.

She is uniquely positioned to combine her twenty years’ experience of helping people in her dietetic practice with extensive training in various techniques and modalities of psychotherapy. Her skills and competences are especially beneficial in working with individuals who have anxiety, challenging relationships with food, and eating disorders. She brings her beliefs in the values of equality, accessibility, inclusiveness, and collaboration to the supportive environment she creates for her clients. Anna’s practice is based on a trauma informed approach. Creating a warm, compassionate, non-judgemental environment is paramount to her. Anna will meet her clients where they are, while building on their strengths. Each of her sessions embraces the use of evidence-based approaches. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotional Focused Therapy (EFFT), Solution Focused Behavioural Therapy (SFBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Brainspotting (BSP). Her work is informed by Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size® principles. Anna uses the knowledge of these techniques to individualize approaches for each of her clients. Her clients have provided her with the most deep and profound learning. The life experiences Anna has gained along the way equipped her for the privilege of standing by the client’s side to empower them to navigate their heroic journey.

Anna, believe it or not, has a life that has nothing to do with nutrition or psychotherapy! She loves to play with her 2 dogs, travel, spend time with her family, play tennis, and enjoy a good laugh.
