Making changes can be hard but, with unconditional support and guidance, small changes can lead to big ones. Drawing from both my personal and professional experience, I will endeavour to assist you to reach your goals.

Anna Skomorovskaia

Anna Skomorovskaia (she/her) has two professional passions, psychotherapy and nutrition. Anna Skomorovskaia, MSW, RSW, RD, CDE (she/her) is a registered social worker, psychotherapist, registered dietitian, and certified diabetes educator. She obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Laurier, as well as Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition from Ryerson University. Her lifelong passions of nutrition, social work, and psychotherapy merged into the practice you see today.

She is uniquely positioned to combine her twenty years’ experience of helping people in her dietetic practice with extensive training in various techniques and modalities of psychotherapy. Her skills and competences are especially beneficial in working with individuals who have anxiety, challenging relationships with food, and eating disorders. She brings her beliefs in the values of equality, accessibility, inclusiveness, and collaboration to the supportive environment she creates for her clients. Anna’s practice is based on a trauma informed approach. Creating a warm, compassionate, non-judgemental environment is paramount to her. Anna will meet her clients where they are, while building on their strengths. Each of her sessions embraces the use of evidence-based approaches. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotional Focused Therapy (EFFT), Solution Focused Behavioural Therapy (SFBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Brainspotting (BSP). Her work is informed by Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size® principles. Anna uses the knowledge of these techniques to individualize approaches for each of her clients. Her clients have provided her with the most deep and profound learning. The life experiences Anna has gained along the way equipped her for the privilege of standing by the client’s side to empower them to navigate their heroic journey.

Anna, believe it or not, has a life that has nothing to do with nutrition or psychotherapy! She loves to play with her 2 dogs, travel, spend time with her family, play tennis, and enjoy a good laugh.
